TIPS FOR BOAT TRIPS

1. Route Planning

Plan your route in advance depending on wind direction and fuel range. The eastern coast (Poros – Sami – Antisamos) is usually calmer, while more secluded beaches like Kako Lagkadi or Makria Petra are perfect for peaceful swimming stops. Combine organized beaches with hidden coves for a balanced experience.

2. Fuel & Timing

Fuel is typically not included in the rental price and is paid upon return, so avoid unnecessary detours. Depart early in the morning (around 09:00–10:00) when the sea is calmer and beaches are less crowded, especially during July and August.

3. What to Bring

Many of these beaches have no facilities, so bring water, snacks, sunscreen, hats, and snorkeling gear. Water shoes are highly recommended for pebble beaches. The sun at sea is stronger than on land, even when it feels breezy.

4. Anchoring & Safety

Anchor only on sandy seabeds and avoid posidonia seagrass areas. Approach coves slowly and keep a safe distance from rocks and other boats. Ensure life jackets are available for everyone and keep a charged mobile phone in a waterproof case.

5. Respect the Environment

Take all trash back with you, avoid loud music in secluded bays, and observe marine life from a safe distance. Preserving Kefalonia’s natural beauty ensures these beaches remain unspoiled for future visitors.
